Just like his father a few years ago, Patrice Haverlan continues to be mentioned each year in numerous magazines and specialized guides like the Guide Hachette, the Dussert Gerber magazine, the Gilbert & Gaillard Guide, Vinum magazine (Germany), Decanter magazine (England) and also Le Point. Our wines are also regularly winning medals at the Concours Agricole des Vins d’Aquitaine, at the Concours Agricole de Paris or at the Concours de Bruxelles. Some distinctions which encourage all our efforts to improve the quality of our wines.

- L'inclassable du Bourdillot -

Château le Bourdillot having attained an undisputed reputation for quality (various “Coup de Coeur” in the Guide Hachette, Le Point, winner of the Trophy of the Graves), it seemed to me interesting to try to make a superior, different wine.
My father had already set the standards very high. When I took over the vineyard in 1990, he had just been elected “Golden Magnum”and “Coup de Coeur” by Guide Hachette. The road ahead was therefore mapped out and it was my duty to follow this path.
L’inclassable du Bourdillot is like a “concept car”, an exercise in style, in order to show expertise and to create an exceptional product.
With L’inclassable, I wanted to show that, in the Graves, the great soil does not stop at Martillac. It is unjust and prejudicial to the consumer that the classification of the Graves is not reviewed every 5 years, like in St Emilion, as this would create a spirit of competition.I therefore had to place myself on the level of the best Crus Classés of the Graves. For this, we created a list of specifications in order to avoid forgetting any decisive point. Today the result is present, the “primeurs” tastings are finishing and during the “coups de Coeur “tasting by Jacques Dupont for Le Point, L’inclassable obtained great success with personalities of the wine world.
